In addition to wedding planning, I’ve spent a lot of time the last few months making new pieces for a couple of local shows. In September, I did the Cooper Young Festival, which is always one of my biggest sales days of the year. Last weekend, I participated in an event called MemFix Cleveland, which was fun.
A lot of what I’ve been working on has been Christmas related. I’m so happy with how these turned out! Out of the five Christmas plates I made, 2 sold on Saturday. Here are the remaining three:
I’ve also made a few non-Christmas plates over the last few months:
I’m taking a break from plates now to work on some new Christmas ornaments. I’ll try to get a post up about those next week!
I’ve been so neglectful of my little blog lately! There has been so much going on. The day after my last post, I got ENGAGED! Woot! So I have been super busy trying to plan and arrange and keep everyone happy. I have lots of DIY ideas floating around in my addled brain, so you should be seeing some of those in the next 6 months!
I’ve also been busy preparing for the Cooper Young Festival, which is tomorrow. It’s always one of my favorite days of the year, because I get to actually see people’s reactions to my work. That’s always fun! If you’re in Memphis and plan on attending the festival (which you should, all the cool kids will be there), come and see me!
I was doing so well there for a bit, and then my posting came to a screeching halt. Sorry about that! A combination of real life stress and an upcoming craft festival I’m trying to get ready for suddenly took over my life. The festival is in less than 3 weeks (EEEEK!!!), so I’ll probably be posting sporadically at best, but I’m going to do my best to post a few things a week!
I came across the first print below while browsing on Pinterest today, and am now completely obsessed with this print shop in the UK (aardvarkonsea). I want them all.
I’m HOPING to have a post tomorrow about something I’ve been working on. Fingers crossed!!
I discovered Man vs Ink, an Etsy shop run by printmaker Fred DiMeglio in Portland, back at Christmas when I was searching for cool beer related gifts (see kickass beer print below). When I came across the equally kickass “Onward” posters a few weeks ago, I just couldn’t resist doing an Etsy favorite post on him. He prints his designs both on paper and fabric (t-shirts, aprons, etc.) I’m definitely partial to all of the bike imagery!
I was finally able to spend some time taking pictures of my newest pieces this weekend!
And here are a few of the other pieces I’ve finished lately:
These will all be up on Etsy this week too!
A little inspiration for the middle of the week!

I love boats. It’s been years since I lived near the ocean (growing up in New Jersey), but I still feel pulled toward the water. A few weekends ago my group of friends had a “water day” at a lake a few hours from Memphis. Between the 8 of us, we had 3 kayaks (my first kayaking experience – think I’m going to have to start saving my pennies to get one of my own pretty soon!!), a fishing boat and a gorgeous hand-crafted sailboat. We had an amazing time, just relaxing in the water, hanging out on the boats and grilling dinner.
