So, I’ve avoided featuring Kathryn Riechert here, despite being one of my favorite Etsy sellers, for one simple reason: she really doesn’t need the exposure. She does amazing work, but she already has a massive following, and amazing sales numbers, and I’d generally rather bring attention to shops that are newer or just lesser known.
But alas, I just can’t hide my love for her anymore. Her work is simple and streamlined, and she offers tons of customization options. In fact, the “diamond” earrings below have been my everyday earrings (like, I’ve LITERALLY worn them every. single. day) since Mike gave them to me for Christmas. Here are a few of my favorites:
SUCH a busy weekend. I worked on three different projects: the major furniture rehab plus 2 smaller projects that I fit in while coats of paint were drying. Frankly, I’m exhausted. I’m planning on photographing stuff tonight, so the posts of my weekend stuff should start tomorrow.
In the meantime, I found this very cool Etsy shop called Sweet Harvey. The shop is run by illustrator and print maker Brandi Powell, and features a mix of letterpress and screenprinted pieces. The illustrations are bold and colorful, and the print work looks immaculate. Here are a few of my favorites:
REALLY digging the robot stuff. Very cool.
ArtMind is the Etsy shop of Mitsy from Hasselt, Belgium. She makes lovely, simple, bold ceramic pieces that would serve as great conversation starters in any home!
I just love the “99 Feelings” project, where she took simple babushka shapes and altered them to evoke different emotions. Here are a few of my favorites:
Happy Cinco de Mayo! In honor of the day, I thought I’d share one of my favorite Etsy shops, which has a decidedly Mexican flavor. Artist Jose Pulido creates and sells prints and t-shirts using mostly Calavera imagery in his shop, Mis Nopales Art. Calavera is Spanish for “skull,” and is associated with Day of the Dead celebrations. Yes, I’m aware that Day of the Dead is in October/November, and has nothing to do with Cinco de Mayo, but just go with me on this one, okay?
Here are a few of my favorite items in his shop. I actually have the “Campfire” print in my living room (which you’ll see if I ever get around to photographing and posting that room in my House Tour!)
And one more for good measure, just because it’s AMAZING:
Today’s the day I pick the winner for our first giveaway of a piece of jewelry from my own Etsy shop, Metal & Mud Designs!
In order to make it truly random, I used Random.org’s “List Randomizer.” I put in the names of each entrant, hit randomize, and the person in the top spot was our lucky winner!
And that person is… allison!
Here’s what allison had to say in her original comment:
And here is the piece of jewelry she chose!
allison, just shoot me an e-mail at email@example.com with your address and I’ll ship out your new necklace right away. Congrats!
Yes, my first giveaway is from my very own Etsy shop, Metal and Mud! I’m giving away any 1 piece of jewelry, valued up to $17. So take a look around the shop, then leave me a comment telling me your favorite piece, and I’ll randomly choose a winner from among the commenters on Monday, April 18th!
**EDIT: Just a quick reminder! This giveaway is for 1 piece of JEWELRY. Be sure to pick your favorite item from the jewelry section only to be included in the random drawing!!**
After several years of a chin-length bob, I’ve decided to let my hair grow out. For a while, anyway. The goal is to get it long enough to do Locks of Love again (for the 3rd time), but we’ll see if I can make it that long! At the moment, it’s in a slightly awkward mid-length stage, and it’s driving me NUTS. Time to break out the headbands again, and as luck would have it, I just stumbled across BeSomethingNew on Etsy the other day! The shop is geared toward bridal pieces, but there are several headbands that would work great for every day. Here are a few of my favorites:
Stay tuned tomorrow for my first giveaway, from my own Etsy shop, Metal & Mud!
